1996
May -- Management Services
Organization (Physicians's Resource Network ("PRN") is formed, and
the physicians create a steering committee.
December -- First PRN General Membership Meeting
is held and operating agreements are signed.
1997
February -- A Management Services Agreement is
signed.
September -- PRN buys into ownership of the
BayCare Surgery Center.
November -- Initial Provider Services Agreements
are signed with health insurers.
1998
March -- PRN changes its name to
BayCare Health Systems, LLC.
September -- Jeff Mason named CEO.
October -- Construction begins on BayCare Surgery
Center-East.
November -- Confidential Letter of Intent signed
with Aurora Health Care (Milwaukee, WI) to begin discussions on
building a tertiary care hospital.
1999
February -- All physician practices
participating in the Management Services Organization take the next
step towards consolidation, and form BayCare Clinic. They begin
practicing as a fully integrated group practice.
July -- BayCare Surgery Center-East opens for
business.
October -- BayCare Clinic and Aurora Medical
Group agree to build new tertiary care hospital.
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 65 physicians and 6 extenders total.
2000
February--Aurora Health Care and BayCare Clinic
announce the construction of a new hospital in the Green Bay I-43
Business Park.
March --Hospital construction begins.
May -- Aurora Health Care buys 40 percent of the
BayCare Ambulatory Surgery Centers and financing for the new
hospital is completed.
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 62 physicians and 5 extenders total.
2001
January --BayCare recruits 15 new
physicians in preparation of the hospital opening.
May -- Fifteen physician practice sites prepare
to relocate to the Physician Office Building on the campus of
Aurora BayCare Medical Center.
September--An open house welcomes 18,000 visitors
to the newly-completed facility. The hospital opens its doors for
business on Monday, September 25, 2001 at 6pm.
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 69 physicians and 13 extenders total.
2002
February--Central Business
Office moved from Ridge Road to Broadway site.
November--Aurora BayCare Health Center (West
Campus) opens for business, and the Green Bay Eye Clinic
(Ophthalmology Department of BayCare Clinic) moved from Monroe
location into the West Campus on Mason Street.
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 73 physicians and 18 extenders total.
2003
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 76 physicians and 27 extenders total.
2004
September--CBO (building at 164 N.
Broadway) purchase is closed.
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 88 physicians and 30 extenders total.
2005
November--Two Rivers Physician Office Building
opens.
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 92 physicians and 36 extenders total.
2006
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 92 physicians and 40 extenders total.
2007
November--Aurora BayCare Medical
Center becomes a teaching hospital for the University of Wisconsin
School of Medicine and Public Health.
December--BayCare Clinic is comprised of 93
physicians and 43 extenders total.
2008
May--BayCare Clinic
providers begin receiving volunteer clinical faculty
appointments to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and
Public Health.
December--BayCare Clinic is comprised of 98
physicians and 49 extenders total.
2009
February--Implementation of an
electronic health record system began early this year.
August--Implementation began of an automated test
messaging system, used to communicate test results and other
important health related information to patients in a personal,
individualized message within 48 hours of test results being
received.
December--BayCare
Clinic physicians now have the ability to electronically order and
transmit prescription medications directly to pharmacies.
December--BayCare
Clinic is comprised of 103 physicians and 52 extenders total.
2010
January--The Healthy Lifestyles Program was
implemented for the employees of BayCare Clinic. This program
allows participants to be rewarded with discounted medical premiums
for being tobacco-free, having or progressing toward healthy body
composition, and meeting or progressing toward pre-determined,
objective fitness measures.
December--BayCare Clinic hits 100% of eligible
provider participation in the federal Physician Quality Reporting
Initiative.

2011
July -- Aurora BayCare Medical
Center hosts its first group of WARM (Wisconsin Academy for Rural
Medicine) students.
