Each October, the campus of Aurora BayCare Medical Center transforms into a vibrant sea of pink, filled with energy, compassion, and determination. This year, on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, the community will once again come together for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk—an annual event hosted by the American Cancer Society that brings hope to those affected by breast cancer and fuels the fight for a cure.
At the heart of this powerful movement is the Aurora BayCare Breast Services team, led by the passionate and dedicated Molly Linzmeier, FNP. Molly, along with her incredible teammates—Dr. Natalie Luehmann, Ally Curtis RN, Marina Curiel LPN, Renee Boucher CST, Kim Zellner RN, Jess Goodletson, Mike Roach, and Jess Winkel—embodies the spirit of Making Strides. Their commitment to supporting patients, raising awareness, and celebrating survivors is nothing short of inspiring.
Why We Walk
For this team, Making Strides is more than just a walk—it’s a promise. A promise to stand by every patient, every survivor, and every family member touched by breast cancer. Guided by the leadership of Dr. Natalie Luehmann and Molly Linzmeier, FNP, the team works tirelessly to create a safe and supportive environment for breast cancer care.
Dr. Luehmann often shares, “Early detection is the key that unlocks the door to life-saving care.” This message resonates deeply with the team and fuels their mission to spread awareness and encourage proactive health practices.
Meet Lumi the Unicorn!
No Making Strides walk would be complete without a visit from Lumi the Unicorn, the team’s beloved mascot. Lumi—short for Luminary—represents the light of hope that guides patients and caregivers through even the darkest times. Be sure to snap a photo with Lumi and share your moment of joy and support!
